SNKC BY-LAWS

Charitable Contributions - each year we donate proceeds from our shows to worthy causes, both local and national.

  • Support Public Education - providing information on the proper treatment and training of pets and also information for children on approaching strange dogs.
  • Provide support and guidance to local governments concerning dog related legislation.
  • Provide support to dog related rescue activities - especially in the event of emergencies and natural disasters

Susque-Nango Kennel Club

Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month except January, February, and December at Gander Mtn at 528 Harry L. Drive, Johnson City, NY.

However, due to the past flooding, Gander Mountain is closed, so check back here to see where the next meeting is being held!

The SNKC meeting will be held on May 29th at the BCC Ice Rink on the BCC campus, Upper Front Street.  The meeting will be at 7:30

(The board will meet at 6:30 p. m.)

During the summer months, Show Handling classes are held at Otsiningo Park. We will try to start class at 7:15 instead of 7:30. For any one who has not attended our classes at the park before, we will  be on the right hand side of the road,  just before the half-way point of driving around the main circle. Beginning September 1st classes will be held indoors at the Nordic Myst Dog Training building in Endwell.

Herding Events - SNKC sponsors indoors herding classes in Windsor in the winter months with Sara Reiter, instructor.  For more information contact Sara Reiter at sarareit@gmail.com

Class Descriptions

Utility:

 

Offered Saturday 8am. Competition level class,will work on teaching and/or proofing the utility level exercises. Prerequisite: CDX or by permission of instructor. 

NEXT session: Saturday, April 8

 

Open:

 

Offered Wednesday 9:30 am and Saturday 9am. Competition level class,will work on teaching and/or proofing the open level exercises.  Prerequisite: CD or by permission of instructor.

NEXT sessions: Wednesday - March 7

                          Saturday - April 8

 

Novice:

 

Offered Saturday 10:30am Competition level class, will work on teaching and/or proofing the Novice level exercises.   Prerequisite: CGC or by permission of instructor.

NEXT session: March 10

 

O'Rally:

 

Offered Thursday 6:30pm.  A combination class of Novice obedience exercises and all levels of rally. Dogs must be 6 months or older, must be trained to pre-novice level, and must be able to do stationary exercises. Prerequisite: CGC or by permission of instructor. NEXT session: March 1

 

Intro to Rally/Beginner Novice:

 

Offered Thursday 7:30pm. "Into" class to both Rally and  Beginner Novice competition.  Class will teach Novice level rally signs and Beginner Novice exercises. Prerequisite: CGC or by permission of instructor.

 

Canine Good Citizen:

 

Offered Thursday 7:30pm and Saturday 10:30am.  AKC Canine Good Citizen  program designed to recognize dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. This program stresses responsible dog ownership and basic training and good manners for all ages of dogs.

Star Puppy: 

 

Offered Saturday 11:30am. AKC Star Puppy designed to promote socialization,beginning obedience and the care of your puppy. This class is for puppies 12weeks up to 6 months.  New session begins April 8.

Show Handling:

 

Offered Wednesday 7pm. for all ages.  Puppies MUST be 12 weeks!

Ongoing, start any week.
